Thanks for stopping by the new and improved local business directory for Gillingham, Kent.

We mentioned a few months back that there would be some changes and although they've taken a little longer to introduce than planned we are now ready to whip the sheets off our shiny new business directory and let the world have a peek.

Wondering what kind of additions and alterations we've made?  Well, wonder no further!

For a start, the design has changed.  As nice as the old one was, it was a little bland and seeing as this project began through wanting to promote & showcase local businesses it was decided that the site needed to look as good and smart as the businesses that fill it - hence the upgrade.

The directory structure has changed a little bit to make your searches even easier.  You can search by business name alphabetically using the a-z menu at the top of the directory index, you can browse categories alphabetically using the expanded menus or you can just go straight to the most popular listings below those options.  All the results are filtered by popularity so that you can see instantly how frequently a listing is viewed.

We've added featured listings down the sides (pricing and availability will be on here soon) and we've taken advantage of Googles translation feature so you can view this site in 9 different languages!  Handy for you overseas readers.  Of course being an external component there can be no guarantees about the accuracy of the translations but overall it's a great little feature which we think will benefit a large number of people.

There will be a number of differently priced options for your advertising pleasure including the promotions down the sides, full page adverts, unique web addresses and email forwarders but the most important part of this site is the A-Z directory listings and the great news is that the A-Z directory listing is still free.

Lastly, www.gillinghamkent.co.uk is still exclusive to Gillingham, Kent.  If your business is not located in Gillingham, Kent then we can't accept your advertising.  For those outside of the areas we're covering I'd like to let you know that there will be a main site open to everyone no matter where they are but there's no timeframe for its launch yet so check back often for word on this.
